Welcome to Sprite Alteration

If you are visiting this web page, then it's probably safe to say that you, in one way or another, are a gamer.  People of both genders and at different age groups play games for one reason or another.  Whether it's to play competitively against another person, to kill some time on a lazy afternoon, or to unwind after a tough day at work, video games offer a nice way to entertain just about anyone.  Video games are played and made all around the world, and some of the best are made in Japan.  But what a lot of gamers don't know is that many Japanese games, especially the older ones, are sometimes edited for one reason or another and the average American gamer is completely unaware about the changes.  Sprite Alteration was made in order to inform the average gamer about all of the edits that have occurred in the history of video games, from the Nintendo Entertainment System, to the consoles of today.  You might be surprised when you find out what you weren't playing.

Update: 10-09-08

No actual update this time.  Just a big heads up.  Wanted to let new visitors and any regulars know that Sprite Alteration is going to be on hiatus for quite a while.  I decided to go back to college and that's been taking up a lot of my time recently.  Don't worry though, this place isn't going anywhere.  This site will still be here if I have anything to say about it, there just won't be anything new for some time.  I'll try to make some additions here and there whenever I can, but I can't promise anything.  Just check back in the next couple of months or so and I'll do what I can to have something up.  Catch all you gamers later.
